An enterprise-software company whose systems help organisations manage functions such as finance, operations and human resources.
Enterprise resource planning connects business records across functions. A purchase order can link to goods received, stock records, a supplier invoice and payment. Shared data can reduce repeated entry and make control checks easier. Implementation requires configuration, data migration, access permissions, staff training and testing; installing the software alone does not repair inconsistent records or poorly designed processes.
Imagine a refinery ordering a spare part. A connected system records approval, delivery and the invoice so finance can check what was ordered against what arrived before paying. If an old inventory file wrongly lists ten parts that are not physically present, transferring that error into the new system will still give staff an inaccurate view. The hypothetical illustrates both coordination and data-quality limits.
