Haiku’s new pricing targets high-volume tasks, while longer prompts and output demand still affect the bill.
Anthropic has released Claude Haiku 5.5 for high-volume, cost-sensitive work, according to its announcement.
Small models can handle repeated tasks at a lower unit cost, although suitability depends on the quality required by the application.
The company lists input at US$0.10 and output at US$0.50 per million tokens for prompts up to 100,000 tokens. Longer prompts have higher listed rates.
An application’s bill also depends on how much text it sends, how much the model returns and how often it retries. A lower rate does not settle the total cost of a workflow.
